This online store was commissioned by the Roald Dahl Museum, a charity whose objects
are to further the education of the public in the art of literature, by the provision
of a museum and literature centre based on the works of Roald Dahl.
To raise funds for the charity, the museum has a giftshop. Discover IT has built
an online version of the shop so that Roald Dahl enthusiasts world-wide can order
the toys, models and accessories based on the characters from the Roald Dahl stories.
The online store was built using BVCommerce software with a SQL Server database.
The store is fully maintainable via a web-based admin section. The site is secured
with a digital security certificate from Thawte and uses a Protx online payment
clearance system.
Andersen Europe is part of the Andersen group of companies based in the USA
providing sterilisation products for the healthcare industry. They required
a new web site which could be used not only to promote their products and
explain the concept of their sterilisation techniques but also to allow
their customers to purchase some of their products online.
Selling to and supporting European, Middle East and African markets, the
web site needed to be multi-lingual in English and French.
It was also important to offer easily downloadable product related
literature and videos such as Owner’s manuals, Operating videos, Brochures, Study guides, Wall charts, Data sheets,
etc.
Above all, the web site needed to be easily content managed by Andersen
Europe staff.

Whitebox provides a most informative, consumer-driven and cost efficient shopping 'experience' for home laundry and dish washing products. The site uses frames and active server pages linked to both SQL Server and Access databases. On-line payment clearance uses the Datacash service and incorporates pre-authorisation of credit cards with final billing following shipment of goods.

The Fishing Tackle Store offers sea fishing tackle and accessories to a world-wide
audience. The store was constructed using BVCommerce shopping basket software. It
allows its customers to shop by brand, by category of the products or using the
powerful search facility. It uses both PayPal payment and Protx online payment
clearance. The site is secured with a Thawte SSL certificate.

JF Recruiting is a recruitment service for yacht crew and self-employed contractors working in the marine industry. It utilises a simple database and search engine, which both the employees and employers access directly. Through this system, employees and employers are put in direct contact with each other. It has been implemented using Active Server Pages and a SQL Server database.
