| Habitat: | Woodland, moorland, farmland and mountainous areas. | ||||
| Nesting: | Nests in trees and rock ledges, consisting of a pile of sticks and leafy twigs. Usually, 3-4 eggs laid in April or May. | ||||
| Facts: | The Common buzzard is a
medium-sized, but heavily built hawk. The males have an average weight of 806 gms
(535-985). The females are bigger with an average weight 938 gms (700-1,200). Male Common
buzzards are capable of taking medium sized rabbits and occasionally small birds. They
